It stands 215mm high and measures 117mm across the shoulder. It does have some crazing and two very small glaze chips, the largest being 2mm x 1mm. It dates from around 1900.

This very attractive Royal Doulton stoneware vase was modelled by Eliza(or Elise) Simmance who worked at Doulton’s Lambeth factory for 55 years from 1873-1928. It stands 250mm high and is in excellent condition. The base is impressed with “Art Union of London”. From 1885 till 1902 the Lambeth studios made signed artist’s pieces for the Art Union of London, the members of which took part in an annual draw for works of art including vases such as this.(Refer “Royal Doulton 1815-1965″ Desmond Eyles). The base is also impressed with the Royal Doulton mark which was first used in 1902, so this piece dates from that year.

It has some light crazing and 2 very small chips to the inside of the footrim. It dates from the period 1912-13.

This Barr, Flight and Barr bowl is painted in a very spare pseudo-Chinese pattern, possibly as a replacement for an earlier piece. It is 172mm in diameter and stands 74mm high. It is impressed with the Barr, Flight and Barr mark of 1804-13. There is a small area inside the bowl where there is a faint discolouration and there are marks to the bottom of the inside where it has been used.
