This miniature baluster shaped Moorcroft vase is decorated with the “Pomegranate” design and dates from around 1916. It stands 80mm high and is in excellent condition with very little crazing.
Lustre vase from Societa Ceramica Umbra-Rubboli
Lustre vase from Societa Ceramica Umbra-Rubboli. Item 3140.
This lustre vase carries the entwined initials “PR” for Paolo Rubboli whose widow and family were part of the Societa Ceramica Umbra grouping in Gualdo Tadino and Gubbio, Umbria, Italy. It is decorated with a geometric design, featuring red, ochre and blue. It stands 86mm high and is 89mm in diameter. It is in excellent condition and dates from 1920-31.

This very colourful Minton porcelain plate has been hand coloured over a printed pattern. The pattern is “Chinese Tree No 2067″. The plate measures 234mm by 262mm to the edge of the handles. It is in excellent condition and dates from around 1820.

This unmarked gilded jug is decorated on both sides with large sprays of hand painted flowers. It stands 220mm high at the top of the handle and measures 140mm in diameter. It suffers from some minor loss of gilding and there is a 30mm long scratch just visible in the photo immediately below the blue flower at the bottom of the spray. C1820-30.

This early Moorcroft designed Florian Ware vase is decorated with the Poppy design and carries the James McIntyre backstamp as well as William Moorcroft’s painted initials. It stands 215mm high and measures 117mm across the shoulder. It does have some crazing and two very small glaze chips, the largest being 2mm x 1mm. It dates from around 1900.

This very attractive Royal Doulton stoneware vase was modelled by Eliza(or Elise) Simmance who worked at Doulton’s Lambeth factory for 55 years from 1873-1928. It stands 250mm high and is in excellent condition. The base is impressed with “Art Union of London”. From 1885 till 1902 the Lambeth studios made signed artist’s pieces for the Art Union of London, the members of which took part in an annual draw for works of art including vases such as this.(Refer “Royal Doulton 1815-1965″ Desmond Eyles). The base is also impressed with the Royal Doulton mark which was first used in 1902, so this piece dates from that year.

This large Shelley Vinta lustre vase is decorated with the “Vine and bluebird” pattern (pattern 8318). It stands 320mm high and the diameter of the top is 190mm. There are 2 small hairline cracks to the lip, some crazing and a small area of the lip has sagged slightly in the kiln. C1920.

This sprigged stoneware mug stands 72mm high and is 86mm in diameter. It has a chip to the base which is just visible below the lyre player. It dates from around 1805 and was possibly made by Turner or Wilson.

This small Shelley 1 pint teapot is decorated with the “Wild Flowers” pattern(13668). It is the Henley shape and comes from a “Tea for two” set. It has two fine stress cracks to the base of the spot that show up as faint discolourations. Otherwise it is in excellent condition. It dates from the mid 1950′s.

This ladies side opening tortoiseshell card case features an engraved silver cartouche to the front. Inside is a concertina section for the cards and it is lined with blue satin. The edges of the opening surfaces are lined with ivory. It measures 106mm high, 76mm wide and 16mm thick. Two of the smaller pieces of shell from the ends have come off and been reglued. C1860

This Moorcroft teapot is decorated with the revived cornflower or brown chrysanthemum design on a mottled green ground. It is unsigned but carries two backstamps. The first is the standard McIntyre mark, in brown, and the second is a retailers mark for Townsend & Co Newcastle on Tyne. It has some light crazing and 2 very small chips to the inside of the footrim. It dates from the period 1912-13.

This good quality canteen of cutlery is housed in an attractive oak Jacobean style cabinet. Made by Mappin & Webb, this is a setting for twelve and features bone handled knives. It is in very good condition and substantially intact, missing only a few pieces. It dates from the late 1920′s

This Royal Worcester plate is handpainted by Frank R. Rushton and features a scene of Venice. It is signed on the back and dated 1904. The Worcester backstamp is for 1905. It has lost a little of the gilding to the rim, otherwise it is in excellent condition. The diameter is 230mm.

This oval platter by Shelley is decorated with the colourful “Hedgerow”(pattern 13492) and dates from the early 1950′s. It measures 271mm x 220mm and is in excellent condition apart from some knife marks on the glaze to the centre. We also have two bowls in the same pattern in a similar condition.

Barr, Flight and Barr bowl
Barr, Flight and Barr bowl. Item 3117.
This Barr, Flight and Barr bowl is painted in a very spare pseudo-Chinese pattern, possibly as a replacement for an earlier piece. It is 172mm in diameter and stands 74mm high. It is impressed with the Barr, Flight and Barr mark of 1804-13. There is a small area inside the bowl where there is a faint discolouration and there are marks to the bottom of the inside where it has been used.

The hand painted centre on this Davenport plate is of a farmhouse on the edge of a wood, surrounded by a gilt frame on a pink ground. It measures 229mm in diameter. There has been some rubbing of the gilding to the rim and to a small area of the frame. There is also a small chip to the rim. C1870.

This very attractive scalloped edge plate by Aynsley is decorated with an Art Nouveau hand coloured pattern of poppies. The plate is 218mm in diameter and dates from around 1910. There has been some slight rubbing of the gilding to the rim and some small loss of the pattern.

This Doric shape Shelley sugar bowl is decorated with the pattern “Basket of fruit”(pattern 11366). It measures 130mm in diameter and stands 67mm high. It has a number of very. very small paint chips to the rim. It dates from around 1925.

This very attractive set of 3 leaf shaped porcelain dishes with branch handles is by Fischer & Mieg of Bohemia, now part of the Czech Republic. They are decorated with hand coloured and gilded scenes of flowers, birds and insects. The largest dish measures 280mm long(including the handle) and 212mm wide. There is some loss of gilding to the rims and handles. The set dates from around 1870.

This hand painted & gilded plate features a central spray of flowers surrounded by a pierced border of deep blue and pale yellow, enhanced by gilding. It is unmarked save for the fractional number 2/9235. It is attributed to Samuel Alcock and dates from around 1845. There is a very slight loss of gilding to the outside of the central well. The diameter is 237mm.
