Cedar Chiffoniere. Item 2477.
This Australian cedar Chiffoniere features a classical Palladian back and a shelf with a crossbanded edge, supported by turned columns. The single cushion moulded drawer, with crossbanding, sits above two doors with bookmatched flame cedar panels. The doors are flanked by simple pilasters and the piece sits on a plinth base. The base dates from c1850 and has retained its original patina, door lock and key. The drawer slides and runners have been restored. The back and shelf are not original but have mostly been made up from old cedar that has also retained its original patina. Overall the piece is in excellent condition. Height is 1470mm, width 1220mm and depth 530mm.
