This hand beaten Arts and Crafts copper tray measures 560mm long, 256mm wide and stands 20mm high. It has seen a lot of use, but this adds to its charm. A wonderful decorative piece. C1900.

This good quality wooden page turner is decorated with a stylised foliage pattern. It is intricately and deeply carved. The side shown in the photo has some damage to the handle and a small stain 3/4s of the way down. The other side has no damage. It is 286mm long and 36mm wide.

This good quality canteen of cutlery is housed in an attractive oak Jacobean style cabinet. Made by Mappin & Webb, this is a setting for twelve and features bone handled knives. It is in very good condition and substantially intact, missing only a few pieces. It dates from the late 1920's

This very attractive Papier Mache bowl features a spray of hand painted flowers to the centre with painted and gilded scrolls to the rim, all on a green ground. It is fitted with a gilt brass swing handle. The bowl is 258mm in diameter and stands 38mm high (180mm high with the handle upright). It is in good condition and has a small chip to the underside of the rim. C1840

This Papier mache letter rack stands 155mm high and is 215mm wide. It is decorated in the Chinoiserie style and dates from around 1890. It is in very good condition and it has a small chip to the rear.

This Bois Durci paperweight features floral decoration and measures 145mm long' 86mm wide and is 23mm thick. It is in excellent condition apart from four very small chips to an edge.

This Russian made enamel beaker was made for Queen Victoria's 1897 Diamond Jubilee. It stands 96mm high and is 89mm in diameter at the top. It features two portraits of Queen Victoria-one from 1837, when she ascended to the throne and one from 1897. It also features the Royal Coat of Arms and a crown. The enamel has some chips around the rim and there are some very fine cracks to the enamel in the area of the chips. The colour and the gilding are still in very good condition.

The front cover of this beautiful book is made of papier-mache and has been inlaid with mother-of-pearl, painted and gilded whereas the back is unadorned. The colours of the floral spray are still bright and vibrant, especially where the painting is done over two pieces of mother-of-pearl which gives an iridescence to the leaves. It is in remarkably good condition with only the loss of some of the gilding and the pile from the velvet spine covering. It belonged to a Miss Annie Craven and contains stories, poems, good wishes and witty epigrams from her parents, friends, relatives and, perhaps a beau or two. The ink has faded in some of the writings, but others remain as vivid as when they were written in the late 1870's and early 1880's. Some of the copperplate script is superb. Whilst the book is English, Miss Craven may have lived in Bendigo in Victoria, Australia as there are mentions of Bendigo street names and of Eaglehawk, now a suburb of Bendigo, but in the mid 1850's, a rich alluvial goldfield. There is a companion piece to this book, which is a leather cover for a notebook, with the unused notebook and pockets for stamps etc. It has, embossed in gold, on the front A.W.C, for miss Annie Craven(see SKU 1380).
