Hand painted porcelain miniature tea set poss. S Alcock. Item 3154.
This fourteen piece hand painted porcelain miniature tea set, possibly by Samuel Alcock, comprises 6 cups and saucers, a waste bowl and a two handled sugar bowl with lid. The diameter of the cups is around 70mm and they stand around 50mm high. The saucers are in very good condition, the cups a little less so, with a few cracks and chips. Likewise the waste and sugar bowls have a couple of faults, but none of the faults are major and overall the set is in good condition for its age. c1840.

This very pretty hand coloured and gilded miniature jug is by Crown Staffordshire and dates from 1900. It stands 64mm high and is in excellent condition.
Lustre vase from Societa Ceramica Umbra-Rubboli
Lustre vase from Societa Ceramica Umbra-Rubboli. Item 3140.
This lustre vase carries the entwined initials "PR" for Paolo Rubboli whose widow and family were part of the Societa Ceramica Umbra grouping in Gualdo Tadino and Gubbio, Umbria, Italy. It is decorated with a geometric design, featuring red, ochre and blue. It stands 86mm high and is 89mm in diameter. It is in excellent condition and dates from 1920-31.

This unmarked gilded jug is decorated on both sides with large sprays of hand painted flowers. It stands 220mm high at the top of the handle and measures 140mm in diameter. It suffers from some minor loss of gilding and there is a 30mm long scratch just visible in the photo immediately below the blue flower at the bottom of the spray. C1820-30.

This sprigged stoneware mug stands 72mm high and is 86mm in diameter. It has a chip to the base which is just visible below the lyre player. It dates from around 1805 and was possibly made by Turner or Wilson.

The hand painted centre on this Davenport plate is of a farmhouse on the edge of a wood, surrounded by a gilt frame on a pink ground. It measures 229mm in diameter. There has been some rubbing of the gilding to the rim and to a small area of the frame. There is also a small chip to the rim. C1870.

This very attractive scalloped edge plate by Aynsley is decorated with an Art Nouveau hand coloured pattern of poppies. The plate is 218mm in diameter and dates from around 1910. There has been some slight rubbing of the gilding to the rim and some small loss of the pattern.

This very attractive set of 3 leaf shaped porcelain dishes with branch handles is by Fischer & Mieg of Bohemia, now part of the Czech Republic. They are decorated with hand coloured and gilded scenes of flowers, birds and insects. The largest dish measures 280mm long(including the handle) and 212mm wide. There is some loss of gilding to the rims and handles. The set dates from around 1870.

This hand painted & gilded plate features a central spray of flowers surrounded by a pierced border of deep blue and pale yellow, enhanced by gilding. It is unmarked save for the fractional number 2/9235. It is attributed to Samuel Alcock and dates from around 1845. There is a very slight loss of gilding to the outside of the central well. The diameter is 237mm.

This Ridgway milk jug is decorated in crimson and gold. There is some minor loss of the gilding. It stands 122mm at the top of the handle. There is an illustration of the jug in plate 134 of Geoffrey Godden's "Ridgway Porcelains". Although it is unmarked it carries the fractional number 2/2342 which places the date around 1830.

This lidded Ridgway sugar bowl is decorated in crimson and gold. It stands 150mm high and is 156mm in diameter. It does suffer from a very minor loss of gold. It is unmarked but carries the fractional number 2/2342. There is an illustration of this shape in Geoffrey Godden's "Ridgway Porcelains". C 1830.

There is some loss of the gilding to the edge of the rim and to some of the higher points on the rim. There is also a slight bluish stain to a small area of the rim. The diameter is 239mm. C1820-5.

This cup and saucer by Enoch Wood and Sons is decorated with transfer prints of Faith, Hope and Charity. Faith and Hope are printed either side of the cup and Charity adorns the saucer. There is some loss of paint to the cup rim and there is a shallow chip to the footrim of the saucer. C1818-46.

This pottery jug by Ugo Zaccagnini of Florence stands 214mm high and dates from the early 1930's. It is a very textured piece in both the plain areas as well as the incised areas. It has a few small chips to the rim, base and spout.

This Ridgway "Rivoli" shape cup & saucer is decorated with hand gilding over a fawn ground. The fractional pattern number is 2/7546. It is excellent condition with its only blemish being some very minor loss of gilding to the plate centre and the rim of the cup. C1845.

This hand coloured jug is attributed to the Hill Pottery Co. Ltd. The Hill Pottery Co. followed on from Samuel Alcock and Sir James Duke & Nephews who also used this style of decoration. It stands 125mm high and does have some small paint chips, one of which is visible in the photo. C 1861-7.

It suffers from some loss of gilding to the rim and the handle and a tiny chip to the rim, otherwise it is in very good condition. It stands 65mm high and has a diameter of 77mm. C1820.

This pewter-lidded hot water jug with a Grecian design is attributed to Samuel Alcock and dates from around 1850. It is hand coloured and stands 210mm high. The fractional pattern number shows a 4 over 3374 without the bar. This is painted to the underside.There is some loss of paint on the handle(visible in the photo)and some slight rubbing of the gilding in the same area. There is a small chip to the underside of the base and some very minor paint scratches on the body. There is also some very faint crazing barely visible through the ground.
