This very attractive hand painted and gilded porcelain dessert comport is attributed to Samuel Alcock and carries the fractional pattern number 3/988. It is 312mm long (including handles), 235mm wide and stands 45mm high. It has a few very small areas where the gilding has been lost. C 1840.
