Ashworths Ironstone China plate. Item 3732.
I assume that this Ashworths Ironstone China plate was made for a special order for a Spanish speaking person, company or organisation, as evidenced by the monogram “F S y R” shown at the top of the plate. The printed pattern is in iron red on a green ground, with the remainder of the pattern left white. The diameter is 222 mm (8.75 inches) and the plate is in good condition apart from a 15 mm (5/8ths of an inch) long chip to the left of the monogram at about 9 o’clock. It carries the printed Ashworth’s stamp as well as their impressed Ironstone China stamp and the date for December 1887.
