Belgian silver gilt cake slice in original fitted box

Belgian silver gilt cake slice in original fitted box. Item 4733.This Belgian silver gilt cake slice features an Art Deco design silver handle and a pierced and engraved gilt blade. The length is 255 mm (10 inches) and the blade is 60 mm (2 3/8 ths inches) wide. I haven’t weighed the silver content as there as there appears to be a steel or iron rod connecting the two halves of each piece as reinforcement. The fitted box is clad in a dark green crocodile skin paper, and the inside is lined in velvet and satin. The box is 290 mm (11.5 inches) long, 85 mm (3.25 inches) deep and it stands 30 mm (1.25 inches) high. The  label in the lid shows that maker or retailer was Paul Botte, who was the successor to the firm of Botte-Ollinger.  He was situated in 49 Rue de Namur in Nivelles in Belgium, and operated from 1941-7. Both the slice and the box are in very good condition.
