Bennett’s pottery mug. Item 4177.This barrel shaped pottery mug was made by Bennett’s Pottery at their Magill factory in Adelaide during the 1930’s. The only ornamentation on the piece are three bands made with a coggle wheel, which feature to the top, middle and base. It’s possible it was made as a beer mug, and the bands represent the bands on a wooden beer barrel. It stands 98 mm high and has a diameter of 92 mm. The only fault is some light crazing. With its original silver and black sticker in place, it dates from 1935 to 1945, but I would put this into the late 1930’s.
