Blue and white comport by Brown-Westhead and Moore Pomona pattern. Item 3713.

This Brown-Westhead and Moore blue and white comport is decorated with their “Pomona” pattern, featuring large realistic renderings of fruit and foliage. It measures 230 mm (9 inches) in diameter and stands 80 mm (3.25 inches) high. This comport would have been part of a dessert set. It is unmarked but the pattern is shown in Figure 523 of Robert Cluett’s book “Staffordshire Pottery”. There are no chips or cracks, however there is a very slight amount of movement in the join between the base and the top. c 1885.
