Caughley blue and white tea bowl and saucer. Item 4044.
This porcelain tea bowl and saucer is from the Caughley factory and is decorated with a printed blue and white “Pagoda” pattern which is also known as the “Broseley” pattern, Broseley being the nearby town to the factory. The shape is known as the Royal or Two-and-One Flutes. The gilding was probably added by the Chamberlain factory in Worcester. The teabowl has a diameter of 82mm and stands 49mm high, whilst the saucer measures 130mm in diameter. There is some slight wear to the gilding and two small chips to the base of both the cup and the saucer. C1782-95.
