Caughley hand painted porcelain tea bowl. Item 4616.This Caughley hand painted porcelain tea bowl features 28 vertical flutes and stands 44 mm (1.75 inches) tall with a diameter of 85 mm (3 3/8ths inches). It is unmarked but corresponds to Plate 83, page 14 of Berthoud’s Compendium of British Cups. The inside is decorated with a basket of flowers whilst the inner rim carries two parallel lines either side of a dotted line. The outside is decorated with painted sprigs and an undulating line to the rim. It is in very good condition and dates from around 1790.
