Cedar centre table. Item 3633.This large centre table made from Australian cedar would have taken pride of place, either in the entrance hall, or in a large room in a very grand colonial mansion. The legs supporting the platform base terminate in carved lion’s paw feet with additional raised carving to the knees. Connecting the base and top are four turned uprights with raised carving to their base. The condition is very good with the whole table having been repolished, albeit some time ago. The length is 1745mm, the width 1160mm and it stands 750mm high. It dates from around 1870. It would be perfect to support a large floral display, a collection of silver framed photographs or anything else that takes your fancy.
