Chinese filigree silver gilt card case. Item 4672.This Chinese filigree silver gilt card case with a lift off lid measures 88 mm (3.5 inches) in height, 56 mm (2.25 inches) in width and has a thickess of 16 mm (5/8ths of an inch). The central cartouches on either side feature intricate raised filligree work. One side features a mythical dragon-like creature and the other flowers and foliage. On the top is a solid silver panel to take the owners initials, but it is unmarked. There is also a small panel holding the maker’s mark of YKC. There are two very small areas of damage to one side and there has been some loss of the gilding where it has been handled. C 1870.
