Copeland and Garrett moulded jug

Description

Copeland and Garrett moulded jug. Item 3452.This moulded Copeland and Garrett jug is decorated with classical scenes on either side and below the spout, a dog under a tree . The lobed body and ornate handle are covered in a salt glaze. It stands 150 mm (6 inches) to the top of the handle. There is a small chip to the lip, and immediately below that is what appears to be the missing piece, now glazed to the body. The area of the chip is covered in glaze, so this looks ex-factory. There are also some very small firing cracks, mainly in the moulded relief. The impressed mark was used for the period 1833-40.
