Flower encrusted porcelain scent bottle. Item 4194.Made in Europe around 1890, this very pretty lidded porcelain scent bottle is encrusted with hundreds of flowers-there are 48 on the lid alone! Each one of these flowers were applied by hand and then painted with a dark centre and a pale pink surround which gives the whole piece a very delicate pink hue. It stands 182 mm (7.25 inches) high and has a diameter of 97 mm (3.75 inches). Whilst there is minimal, if any, damage to the flowers, there is a repair to the underside of the lip on the body and the gilding has suffered some loss. The stopper is slightly off centre as it has warped a bit in the kiln.
