Grecian vase by Bates, Brown-Westhead and Moore. Item 4136.This lovely cylindrical porcelain spill vase is decorated with hand coloured scene from antiquity of lady being dressed for the theatre. The vase was made by Bates, Brown-Westhead and Moore in Staffordshire in 1859-61. They were the successors to John Ridgway and subsequently became Brown-Westhead and Moore and then Cauldon, all makers of good quality items. The vase stands 116mm high and the diameter at the base is 63mm. The condition is very good, but it does have a few faint scratches to the salmon coloured ground.
