Product Description

Harold Hughan stoneware tray with bottles. Item 4594.This set of a tray with two stoppered bottles were wheel thrown in stoneware by Harold Hughan (1893-1987). All three pieces are finished with a copper coloured and  green glazes. The tray has a diameter of 223 mm, and the bottles stand 183 mm high to the top of the stoppers, and measure 70 mm in diameter at the base. The tray and one bottle are in very good condition, but unfortunately the lip on one bottle has been broken and repaired. All three pieces have been signed by the artist, and the bottles also carry his impressed “HGI” mark, standing for “Hughan Glen Iris”, Glen Iris being the suburb of Melbourne where he lived and potted. This set would probably date from the mid to late 1970’s.
