Signed History of MacRobertson’s Confectionery. Item 4694.Printed in September 1921 this 152 page book details the history of MacRobertson’s Confectionery of Melbourne from 1880. It is packed with black and white and colour photos of the various departments of a major confectioner, from manufacture through to packaging and distribution, the buildings that housed them, the products, and the vehicles that delivered the them. The company was founded by  Macpherson Robertson (later Sir Macpherson) and the trade name is a combination of his first and last names. The book is bound with a blue morocco leather spine and silk hard board covers and this copy is signed “With compliments MacRobertson” by the owner, using his iconic, flamboyant signature that become the company’s trademark. There is a little silverfish damage to the two orange endpapers.
