Description

Locke Worcester vase painted by H Wall. Item 1685.

This delicate porcelain Locke Worcester specimen vase features a peacock painted by H. Wall, on a blush ivory ground. It is not known how long this artist worked at the Locke Worcester factory for, but he later moved to the Royal Worcester factory. At both factories he was known as a painter of game birds. The “850” painted on the base is probably the shape number, the shape described as “Vase squat base, slender neck”. This vase is 153 mm, or 6 inches high and in very good condition with the colours still vibrant. It dates from around 1900
