.Mauchline Ware pin dish. Item 4793.The transfer decoration on this Mauchline Ware pin dish is of Stirling Castle and Cemetery. The script above the scene shows that it was bought in the Douglas room of the Royal Palace of Stirling, and below that are two lines from Sir Walter Scott’s narrative poem “The Lady of the Lake”, first published in 1810. It has a diameter of 89 mm (3.5 inches). It has a couple of shallow scratches to the face and a very shallow chip to the rim. It would date from the last quarter of the nineteenth century.
