Moorcroft lamp base Anenome pattern. Item 3235.
This Moorcroft lamp base is decorated with the Anenome pattern on a green ground and is in the shape of a Chinese style lidded ginger jar. Originally designed by William Moorcroft before WWII, the Anenome pattern was used regularly by his son Walter until 1975, when Walter redrew the design. This lamp base stands 160 mm (6.25 inches) high and is 130 mm (5 1/8th inches) in diameter. There is a small firing crack, ex-factory, to the inside rim of the base which can not be seen when it is standing. It dates from the late 1970’s.
