Pair of Old Sheffield Plate candlesticks. Item 3751.

This pair of Old Sheffield Plate candlesticks stand 236 mm high and feature three heavily decorated silver mounts soldered on to the sconce, stem and base. These mounts were stamped from silver sheet and filled from behind with solder. Inside the nozzles are the marks “O R” and “Silver Edges”. I have been unable to find the makers name. Structurally sound, they have sustained fairly heavy loss of silver. C 1820.
