Pink and gilt plate prob. by Brown-Westhead & Moore pattern B 4492

This very attractive plate from a dessert set, is decorated with three cartouches containing a printed pattern of fruit and leaves, overlaid with gilding in a pink ground. There is also gilding to the outer rim, the edge of the central well as well as a gilt design to the centre. It is unmarked except for the pattern number (pattern B 4492) and is probably by Brown-Westhead & Moore and dating from around 1880. It measures 230 mm (9 inches) in diameter. It has some very, very minor loss of the gilding, consistent with usage and age.
