Pressed horn snuff box with inlaid lid

Pressed horn snuff box with inlaid lid. Item 1381.

The lid of this pressed horn snuff box is inlaid in a chequerboard pattern using plain and coloured bone, surrounded by bone stringing, some of which is missing. It is 69 mm (2.75 inches) long, 32 mm (1.25 inches) wide and 20 mm (.75 inch) high. Its condition is good and it dates from the 1840’s.
