Ridgway hand coloured and gilded plate pattern 5/346. Item 3549.

This very attractive Ridgway plate has been hand coloured and gilded with pattern 5/346 on the Savoy shape from their range of teaware. It is unmarked but corresponds to plate 143, page 128 of Geoffrey Goddens’ “Ridgway Porcelains” 1985. It measures 264 mm across both handles and is in extremely good condition with only some very, very minor scratches to the maroon ground. The colours and gilding are still bright and the whole piece is enlivened by the floral sprays to the centre. C 1850.
