Royal Doulton Oyama pattern bowl pattern D2418. Item 4438.The Royal Doulton “Oyama” pattern was introduced in 1905 and features dragons amongst clouds inside a Chinese border. The pattern was listed in Doulton’s series ware under “Heraldic and Grotesque Animals B” series and the pattern number is D2418. This oval bowl measures 293 mm (11.5 inches) in length, 235 mm (9.25 inches) in width, and stands 86 mm (3 3/8ths inches) high. Overall it is in very good condition. However it does have a 6 mm (1/4 inch) long firing crack to the footrim, and when the transfer was applied to the centre of the bowl, a wrinkle was left in, resulting in a lighter coloured line that runs partway across the dragon. It is impressed with the date code for 1906.
