This Royal Worcester porcelain plate was hand painted by Raymond Rushton (1886-1956), and features a very detailed scene of a rural lane and time honoured buildings in Tewksbury in Gloucestershire, England. Rushton was a very fine landscape painter but specialised in painting cottages and buildings of yesteryear. He retired in 1953. It measures 272 mm (10.5 inches) in diameter and stands 20 mm (.75 of and inch) high. This plate is in excellent condition apart from three minute paint chips.  It carries the date mark for 1941.
