Royal Worcester porcelain plate with raised gilding. Item 2624.This very striking Royal Worcester porcelain plate has the rim decorated with raised gilding on a black ground. This raised gilding is a very William Morris like design of dense, intertwined foliage punctuated with Tudor roses. The centre again features entwined foliage, this time on an orange ground. The plate has a diameter of 216 mm (8.5 inches). There is little, if any, wear to the gilding, but there are a few knife marks to the orange ground. It carries the date mark for 1921.
