Royal Worcester vase hand painted by Kitty Blake. Item 1804.

This small Royal Worcester spill vase has been painted by Kitty Blake, who worked at Royal Worcester for 48 years from 1905 to 1953. The decoration is further enhanced with gilding to the foot and the rim, and a line of connected gilt dots just below the rim. Prior to her time at Royal Worcester, Blake had worked at James Hadley’s Worcester factory. Standing 116 mm (4.5 inches) high this vase has a diameter at the top of 58 mm (2.25 inches). It is in excellent condition and carries the date mark for 1941.
