Set 6 blackwood dining chairs. Item 3599.
This set of 6 good quality blackwood balloon back dining chairs features carving on the front cabriole legs and pierced back splats. The set was bought from an antique dealer in Adelaide in the 1940’s, where they were repolished and re-upholstered. The upholstery was done using the traditional horsehair stuffing. It was then shipped to Broken Hill where it was in use until being shipped to Geelong in the early 2000’s. The chairs are in very good condition and the warm patina highlights the blackwood. C1880.
