Shelley cup and saucer pattern 10749. Item 3210.An unnamed pattern (pattern 10749) adorns this Shelley cup and saucer. The pattern consists of a black printed pattern, enhanced with hand coloured red and purple flowers and green leaves, and the edges have been gilded. This was the first pattern on the Norman shape, and was issued in August 1915. The Norman shape was also issued in 1915 and lasted until September 1924. It was named after Percy Shelley’s eldest son Norman. The condition is very good, but there is a very small amount of rubbing to the gilding and one or two tiny soot marks from the kiln.
