Shelley parian bust Sir John French. Item 2552.

This rare Shelley parian bust is of Sir John French Commander-in-Chief of the Expeditionary Forces in World War 1. It is from the set of eight World War 1 Allied leaders and would date from around 1916 as it bears the “Late Foley” backstamp. It stands 120 mm (4.75 inches) high and is in excellent condition apart from a small chip to the rear of the underside of the plinth, which is barely visible when standing.
