Silver plated travelling ink well

Silver plated travelling ink well. Item 4542.This travelling ink well is made up of a silver plated body holding a glass bottle for the ink, and a sprung lid that locks down to prevent the ink spilling. Inside the sprung lid is a smaller sprung stopper that fits into the neck of the bottle. To prevent the lid opening accidentally, this ink well has a pivoting lock that slides in behind the opening button. It stands 45 mm (1.77  inches) high, is 43 mm (1.77 inches) wide and 19 mm (.75 inch) thick. Both spring actions are still strong, but there is some wear to the silver plating. It would date from around 1900.
