Spode figurine copying original Chelsea. Item 1756.

In 1933, to celebrate the bi-centenary of Josiah Spode’s birth, Spode issued a series of figurines using the original Chelsea moulds of the late 1700’s. These are marked “Chelsea Derby Copeland (or Spode)”. This one is No. 12 “Tambourine” and is in excellent condition. It is 183 mm (7.25 inches) high.
