Description
Decoupage screen. Item 2580.
This three panel decoupage screen stands 1837 mm tall. The frame is of ebonised timber with gilt trim. The decoration is pasted on paper over a hessian backing. It has sustained some damage over the years since it was made around 1890 but it is good condition for its age and character. Decoupage is a decorating technique where photos, illustrations, letters and words were cut from newspapers and magazines and pasted onto a backing sheet to form a decorative pattern. It became very popular and pre-cut items could be purchased to adorn your project.
