Wembley Ware dog and frog ashtray. Item 4711.This Wembley Ware ashtray was designed to represent a frog in a pond with a small terrier eyeing it from the bank. The dog is decorated in grey and white with a lustre glaze, whilst the pond is done in an aqua coloured lustre glaze, and the frog hand painted in dark green. The diameter of the piece is 133 mm and it stands 83 mm high. Wembley Ware was made by the Bristile Co in Perth, Western Australia. The piece is in very good condition with no damage to the lustre glaze, and the gilding to the cigarette grooves is in excellent condition. It would date from the mid 1950’s.
