Worcester porcelain coffee cup c 1770. Item 4095.This Worcester porcelain coffee cup was originally decorated with what is known as the ‘Gold Queen’s Pattern”, a simple pattern of petal shapes done in gold. Sometime later, an external decorator has added the enamel flower sprays and the piece was re-fired. An indication that the piece has been refired is the presence of black specks that occur in unglazed or thinly glazed areas, like the base or footrim, and these are present inside and outside of the footrim. The condition of the floral sprays is very good, but the original gilt pattern has lost its lustre. There are also two small chips to the rim. c 1770.
