Turned wooden glass holder. Item 4362.This turned wooden glass holder has been made from walnut and stands 70 mm (2.75 inches) high and has a diameter of 56 mm (2 1\/8th inches) across the top. Endorsed across the front is “Souvenir de Bellagio”. Bellagio is a very old town on the shores of Lake Como in northern Italy and has been a tourist spot since the mid 1850’s. The glass is decorated with a simple wheel engraved linear pattern to the top with scattered engraved stars below. The lid attaches to the base with a very finely cut thread. There is a very fine split in the lid as can be seen in the photos. I would imagine this would date from the late 1800’s through to around 1910.<\/p>\n
