Chamberlain Worcester hand painted and gilded plate. Item 4736.This richly decorated plate is from the Chamberlain’s factory of Worcester and features a hand painted floral spray to the centre. Surrounding this spray is a ring of very intricate gilding on a lovely cobalt blue ground with dentile gilding to the rim. This design was first used in the First Period, or Dr Wall period at Worcester in around 1765-75. It measures 213 mm (8 3/8 ths inches) in diameter and stands 32 mm ( 1 1/4 inches) high. The gilding to the centre has suffered some rubbing. It dates from the period 1810-15.
