Doulton Lambeth stoneware jug with sterling silver mount. Item 3840.

This Doulton Lambeth stoneware jug is embellished with a sterling silver mount by George Fox of London and dated 1870. It stands 180 mm (7 inches) high. There are areas on the shoulder where it appears that the dark brown glaze has come away from parts of the sprigged mounts and on the side of the handle. These can be seen in the photos.
