Dutch hand painted delft tile

Dutch hand painted delft tile. item 4841.This Dutch hand painted delft tile is decorated with a scene, painted in blue, of a large house with a tower in the foreground and in the background is a windmill across the water. The scene is contained in a circle and the corner motifs are known as spiders. It measures 130 mm (5 inches) square and 8 mm (5/16th of an inch) thick. As to be expected there are a few very small chips to the edges, but overall it is in very good condition. Probably made in Utrecht it would date from the 1880’s.
