Japanese hand painted dragon charger

Description

Japanese hand painted dragon charger. Item 4105.Circling each other amongst the clouds are two dragons which form the centrepiece of this Japanese hand painted charger. Around the rim are three cartouches decorated with fruiting trees, which are in the midst of a field of stylised flowers on a red ground, and copies of Japanese brocade. Either upright on a stand or in the middle of a table, it certainly catches the eye. The diameter is 410 mm and it stands 55 mm high. It is in very good condition and would date to around 1890.
