Description

New Hall teapot decorated with Yellow Shell pattern – pattern 1045. Item 3735.

The decoration on ths rare form of New Hall teapot is the handpainted Yellow Shell pattern (pattern 1045). This shape is shown in Plate 306,  page 322 of Geoffrey Godden’s “New Hall Porcelains” 2004. The length is 265 mm (10.5 inches) from the handle to the spout, the width is 135 mm (5.5 inches) and it stands 148 mm (5.75 inches) high. The condition of the teapot is very, very good with no chips or cracks and minimal wear to the decoration, with the colours still bright. This cannot be said for the lid however, which has been broken in half and glued back together. The repair has been reasonably well done and is undisguised.  C1813.
