Royal Worcester hand painted vase

Royal Worcester hand painted vase. Item 1888.

Dated 1917, this Royal Worcester vase stands 122 mm (4.75 inches) high, and is decorated with hand painted roses in the Hadley style. It is unsigned, but the painting is in the style of Ethel Spilsbury, who became one of Worcester’s principal painters of the 1920’s and 30’s. The painted number on the base is also in a very similar hand to that on Spilsbury’s pieces. It is in very good condition.
