Description
Dutch hand painted delft tile. Item 4848.This Dutch hand painted delft tile features the decoration done in purple with the central cartouche containing a sailing ship and surmounted with a flag waving soldier or sailor. Manufactured in Rotterdam, the tile measures 130 mm (5 inches) square and is 9 mm (3/8ths of an inch) thick. There are a few minor nibbles to the edge. It would date from the period 1720-70.
