Thomas Forester majolica serving tray. Item 4857. This majolica serving tray by Thomas Forester is modelled as a large leaf overlaid with a strand of ivy leaves and seeds which runs down its length, and coloured with green, magenta and yellow glazes. It measures 340 mm (13.25 inches) in length, 190 mm (4.5 inches) in width and stands 42 mm (1.5 inches) high. It has a very small are of loss – 6mm (.25 of an inch) in length – from one of the high points, otherwise it is in very good condition. It would date from around 1880.
